Parking Programs

Monthly Parking - The SPA provides the City of Springfield with favorable rates for business owners and their employees working in the city. Monthly parkers may choose between five multi-level parking structures or four surface lots. They may also choose between a "regular rate" and a "reserve rate". A regular rate provides each parker with a nondesignated parking space. These spaces are on a first come first serve basis. A reserve rate gives parkers the convenience and luxury of having a designated space available to them everyday from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm.

Short Term (Transient) Parking - Short Term or Transient parking is defined as parking in any SPA facility for short periods of time either during the day or at night (non event nights) while conducting business in or visiting the City of Springfield. The SPA is able to provide three (3) different rate structures to meet the needs of its customers.

1) The rate for the SPA's multilevel parking structures is an on-the-clock rate.
2) The Dwight Street surface lot has a flat fee available, and is based on availability.
3) The Morgan Square surface lot has a pay and display machine.
4) The other SPA surface lots are monthly permit parking only.

PARKSPA PASS - The PARKSPA PASS is a pass that allows people to park in some SPA facilities up to six (6) hours for a low flat rate of $5.00. This is a savings of almost 50% over the on-the-clock-rate. These are available only at the SPA office, located at 150 Bridge Street, Springfield, Ma 01103.

VALIDATION STICKERS - Validation stickers are purchased by business owners in the City of Springfield and given to their visitors, customers, clients or patrons. Each validation sticker is good for one (1) free 1/2 hour of parking. A maximum of five (5) stickers can be used at one time. If the number of 1/2 hours parked exceeds the number of validation stickers, the customer must pay the difference to the booth attendant at the gate. The price of Validation stamps is 40 cents per one-half hour and they are sold in books of 100 stamps for $40. These are available to be purchased by business owners at the Trammell Crow Company, located in Tower Square on the 2nd floor.

Long Term (Overnight) Parking - The SPA also provides overnight parking for those business travelers who need to attend meetings out of town or for those just looking to escape for a few days. The SPA overnight parking facility is conveniently located one (1) block from the Amtrak station. The facility can also be used as a central meeting point for those groups of people who are coming from different locations. This facility is covered and access is allowed by keycard only. The facility is locked at night and on weekends. Call Republic Parking at 731-0006 for instructions for procedures for overnight parking.

Event Parking - The SPA works closely with the Springfield Performing Arts Development Corporation (SPADC), the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO), the Spirit of Springfield (SOS), Business Improvement District (BID), the Civic Center and the Greater Springfield Visitors and Convention Bureau to provide affordable flat rates for various events in the City of Springfield. All SPA facilities are in the Central Business District (CBD) and are within walking distance of the Arts and Entertainment District. The SPA also works with local area hotels as well as employers who wish to bring off-site divisions to the city and works with employers outside the city who wish to hold a training or seminar in the city. Call SPA at 787-6118 for instructions for procedures to inquire about an event rate for your group.

EVENT PARKING PROGRAMS - The Springfield Parking Authority (SPA) has entered into limited agreements with The Springfield Performing Arts Development Corporation (SPADC), the Springfield Symphony Orchestra (SSO) and the Springfield Flacons to provide parking to patrons who attend events at Symphony Hall, City Stage and the Falcons games. This parking is free to the customer and is paid for by SPADC, SSO and the Falcons. This may not apply to all events and you should call Symphony Hall, City Stage and the Civic Center in advance.

The SPA also understands the importance of keeping downtown Springfield alive and has worked diligently to maintain a level of affordable parking.
